A Maine resident asks: “I have tried 4 times to have HSBC send me an original of the account application to see who is the owner on the account. I send these each month and so far have never recieved the copy. HSBC coerced my ex into paying for this account even though the bill has always been sent to just me.
It was formerly reported to both of our credit reports and has been removed from the 3 majors on her reports when she disputed. Is she still responsible to pay this?
HSBC has yet to prove that she is a cosigner, and I don’t want her credit to go bad if she stops paying my overdue account. Help please. What federal agency do I complain to? The OCC says it is not their call.”
Editor’s Note: Let your attorney general and the FTC know about your problem. Check your contract to see if you are forced into madatory binding arbitration. HSBC knows arbitration is stacked against customers, thus they ignore your requests.
