FG in California said: “We are going through financial hardship and we’ve tried to talk to several people in the HSBC collections department. HSBC makes it impossible to work with them, and we are willing to pay our ridiculous bill with them but they won’t budge. HSBC wanted to charge us $15.00 for paying over the phone after they have charged us over $2,000 in finance charges.
We bought bedroom furniture with Levitz $3,000 worth and by the time they put finance charges went up to over $2,000. We called HSBC because they want $145.00 a month and because of hardship we were unable to pay that much. HSBC did not try to lower payment or help us in anyway, just recommend us to go to a debt relief counselor. They wanted their money; after talking to them several times they only waived one late fee of $39.00. We are stuck with over $7,000 just for a simple bedroom set and it has been a nightmare after finance charges and no way of getting common ground with them.”
