“Hello, I am writing this message about the today’s bill statement from Best Buy after I bought new laptop 02/18/07. I just received my first mail from Best Buy today and found I already charged with $29 late fee!! However, my point is I never received previous letter with the statement, so I was not able to see my really first bill. I have 8 years of excellent credit history and never ever paid late any of my credit cards or exceeded any of my credit lanes. So when I called to customer service 800-365-0292 and told it, I was expecting they would consider this is the FIRST TIME failure and also actually is NOT MY failure to deliver to my home the first statement. It’s so easy to check at least with my Best Buy account I never paid late and usually paid much before the expiration of the promotional period.
“Customer service manager Carlos refused to eliminate this first time late fee punishing me for somebody’s fault. I told him I am ready to completely pay off the full amount of $425.99 right away, but in spite of this, he said it would be late fee anyway and, moreover, after 10 days they will report it in credit bureau. I am really not happy with this kind of service. Today I already immediately sent my $425.99 online from my bank account, which supposed to post on Best Buy account 04/30/07 and waiting for your response if I need to send your late fee to clean up and to close my Best Buy and Rewards accounts. Thank you for your reply in advance, signed, etc.”
And the reply:

I am so happy to see this page.
I have been a customer of not one but two
vendors who use HSBC bank for their credit
card . I have been frustrated for years as I try to pay down
my bills to find my balance increasing with every payment
due to these unfair practices.
I feel terribly helpless. I have noticed that CITI bank uses
these same practices.
it is about time someone is standing up for the consumer.
We should not be penalized for loving to shop.
