WILL A LESSON BE LEARNED?
I am surprised that it took this long for the end to finally arrive. I was laid off from HFC in November 08 after 5 years of service. When I started I was totally ignorant to the industry and unfortunately let HFC/Beneficial be my teacher. The sad truth is expressed in the countless stories that you can read on this site.
I’ve seen the lying to customers, the packing of insurance on loans, the signing of customer names on docs to avoid loan doc errors, the do anything mentality to make a commission check. When I could no longer take working there I could clearly see that the change that was taking place was too little too late. It is a shame that when HSBC acquired the company that they allowed the same poor HFC/Beneficial culture to remain in place.
I can look back on the experience and honestly say that working there taught me everything not to do. What is amazing is how so many people there have justified their bad behavior and dishonest and unethical actions. The sad reality is the company is gone, for definate and very real reasons.
