This news report comes from Alabama: “I faxed to HSBC (858) 609-4813, a report of an assault by one of their agents sent to repossess SOMEONE ELSE’S CAR. I went to the aid of a female that told their repo person that the car was not at that location, (and there was no visible car), and that she had a work-out provision with HSBC and that there must have been a mistake on the repo.
The repo men left out of her driveway and started up the hill and when she went to her garage, they sped back into her driveway, a rather long driveway, and proceeded to try to raise her garage door — pushing her against the wall and scuffling with her when I went to assist. I was pushed down onto the cement driveway.
She called a security guard that live just down the street and who came immediately and was a younger guy. I am an older man with a prosthetic leg. When he arrived, they pulled out of the driveway onto the street, where they were when the police arrived. A police report was filed and I (and the female) ended up in the emergency room, she with a sprained wrist and sore throat, and me with my good leg injured and being provided crutches at the ER.
I faxed a copy of the ER report and police report to HSBC. I’m told it’s under review. I would like to send copies of that fax and the reports to HSBC Auto Finance Board members, their compliance manager, and anyone else who might assist.
As I stated at the end of the fax..”this type of behavior is deplorable from any company agent or representative – especially contracted agents or representatives–regardless of their role with the company because even individuals having financial hardships have a right to be respected.”
