If all business operations, with the exception of credit cards, are terminated, are your plans for expansion postponed or are they really cancelled? You can decide after reading this statement from HSBC:

Mettawa-based HSBC Finance Corp. is consolidating about 1,200 workers at its facility in Wood Dale to existing operations in Mettawa, Schaumburg and Elmhurst.

Originally the Wood Dale workers were going to move to a new operations center in Itasca, in a project announced in July 2008, but plans for that center have been postponed, HSBC spokeswoman Cindy Savio told the Tribune.

Mettawa is 30 miles from Elmhurst, and 24 miles from Schaumburg. Mettawa is 27 miles from Itasca. Wood Dale is approximately 28 miles from Mettawa. Any distance may be too far if HSBC shuts down remaining HSBC Finance operations.
