According to news reports on Monday, HSBC has confirmed plans to sell outright or potentially lease back an estimated $4.0 billion worth of office real-estate, which includes its London headquarters and offices in New York and Paris.

HSBC spokesmen in London and Hong Kong had no comment.

HSBC sold its London headquarters once but the deal eventually failed.
