A report from Korea, where HSBC had problems with Lone Star and KEB, says: “Unlike most local commercial banks, foreign-owned lenders tend not to follow our recommendations. Plus, they only seek the interests of their shareholders while neglecting their social responsibility,” said a high-ranking FSS official who asked not to be named. The report mentioned HSBC but did not specifically target the bank this time.
