HSBC Finance Corp. said yesterday it is selling its U.S. auto loan servicing operations, including a facility in San Diego, to Santander Consumer USA.

HSBC is cutting 1,700 administrative jobs in U.K., more than 4 percent of its workforce in Britain. HSBC will eliminate the roles in Southampton, Sheffield and Southend, England, “over the next year,” the London-based bank said in an e-mailed statement today. The restructuring will also create several hundred new jobs, the bank said.
