Business is business, both in America and around the world. But we always watch HSBC to see what the bank is up to, often at the expense of soldiers fighting for freedom. This is the same HSBC accused of abusing the United States military:

Today we revisited the University of Maryland at UMUC. The tie-in involves Household International and HSBC Finance. We examined the story long ago, openly stating that UMUC had no business aligning the university and the U.S. military with a predatory lender. Through it all, and as HSBC Finance closes their doors forever, UMUC still maintains the alliance.
A Stock Exchange announcement by HSBC on Wednesday, February 7, 2007 was the moment the credit crisis began. It was only 351 words long but it was devastating.
I’m not sure what stuff this person refers to exactly, but today we received this opinion: “Beneficial was a great company to work for and great to customers until HFC merged with Beneficial and took charge and begin calling the shots. I was a manager for them 25 plus years. The stuff about Beneficial is a bunch of crap.”
