This was received from an employee: “This is regarding the Global People Survey. Management is telling their employees that they need to take this survey. Last I heard this was suppose to be a voluntary survey not mandatory. Supposedly there is a 3rd party that is tallying up the results. Who is to say that they are not getting a kick back to provide the results to upper management?

I dont understand if this is suppose to be anonymous why would you have to enter your employee ID. There is not a place where you can enter any comments on this survey. If the company really wanted to know if they are the best company to work for, why wouldn’t you let the employees voice their opinion.

And in this survey, there was a question that was inappropriate. Why would they need to know if an employee was gay, lesbian? If you cant ask these questions on an employment application, what makes it okay to ask it on a survey?? Who makes up this survey, HSBC or an independent 3rd party??

When you tell management that you are not taking the survey, then they should abide by what you say and not bully you into taking the survey and stand behind you until you finish, how is that right?? Being a shareholder in this company, every employee has the right to refuse any survey they do not want to take.

If you want to make it mandatory then the company NEEDS TO LISTEN to what the employees have to say. Not shrug it off and pretend that this is the company that everyone wants to work at. THIS IS NOT THE ONLY COMPANY OUT THERE.”
