HSBC is in talks with insurance brokers JLT to sell its subsidiary HSBC Actuaries & Consultants for around £25m. HSBC acquired the St Albans-based business, which employs 400 staff, in 1992.

Our staff took some time off during the US Thanksgiving holiday. Financial markets in Dubai did not, leaving HSBC in a bad position.
