Topic Title: HSBC Fraud Hurts Credit Report

DS in California said "I just finished reading a complaint from someone who may have a similar situation as myself. My consumer credit report shows a negative account which I did not open and have no idea who did. It was opened in 4/05 and closed in 11/05 with four delinquent payments. I have never had a late payment on any of my accounts. This has really damaged my credit rating and I am really upset and concerned about identity theft. I have forwarded credit disputes to all three credit report companies and a letter requesting an investigation to HSBC per their request after speaking to them on the phone. I would appreciate immediate advise on this potentially harmful situation."
