Topic Title: GM Card Plagued With Problems

BC in Virginia said this about her GM Credit Card: "I recently noted an entry on my credit report from HSBC NV that has a negative impact. I have never heard of HSBC and after research found that it might be linked to a GMAC credit card that I was given when buying a GMC car. I had difficulty with this credit card because their interest rate went sky high and they failed to send bills out. The also charged a high fee for paying the bill by telephone. I closed this account, in 2000 over a late payment dispute, when I had not received the bill and payed the fee. However on my credit report it says that they closed it in 2004. Is there a way to rectify this."
Answer: Submit your information to the OCC and your state attorney general and HSBC will be forced to fix it.
