I have an HSBC account for furniture. It was interest free for 18 months due 12/08/05 for $2436.01.
#1. I was charged a $69.38 "Debt cancellation" fee the first month July 2004. When I questioned it, was told I never sent back the form stating I didn’t want it, a form that I never received. When the saleswoman asked if I want it, I told her no, I never received any form, but they wont remove it.
#2. When I went online to make the full payment, it won’t accept it and says "I am trying to schedule a duplicate payment. I can’t get a confirmation # or pay the bill. I believe they are trying to get the $932.19 interest from it, and make me go past the Dec 8th due date. Contacting them by phone is a nightmare.
