ST in Illinois said this about HSBC and CompUSA: "I purchased a laptop for my college freshman from CompUSA, taking advantage of their no-interest offer. Time went by as I waited for the first statement. When I finally received a statement, I was being charged $35 as a late charge assessment, although I had never received a first statement. To their credit, when I called they removed the $35 charge as 'their fault', and assured me that it was not reported to the credit agencies."
