BM in Texas says: I have always taken pride in having a perfect credit history. While you might find a few late payments, you would see on my credit report that I Pay my Bills. HSBC recently paid my taxes ($6800.00). I can Thank H&R Block for the wonderfull introduction. The agreement was for 3 months zero % (4-15 to7-15-06). The bill indicated that payment was due on or about 27th of each mo. So thats when I paid them. When the last bill came in, I mailed payment in full immediatly, they recieved it 7-21-06. The next month they sent me a bill for interest due $420.

I called them and they pointed out that on page 2 or 3 it showed zero % until 7-14-06. Yet, they set the closing date on my statement on 7-7-06 so I didn't even recieve it until 7-14-06. I mean I review the pay stub carefully, but who reads page 2, 3 etc?? Is this legal????? I know that it is certainly unethical. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, I was told no one was available, and given a fax # to send my dispute to. A couple of weeks later they sent me a generic later stating that I owed them $. Well, I have not responded to them since & I have no intention of paying one dime to such sleezy people. What can they do to me if I refuse to pay? What can I do to speak out against them? Who should I tell this to???
