B smith reports "We purchased a motorcycle in 2000, and was financed through HSBC. We paid off the bike in 2003 and never received a release of lien from them. Now, it is 2006....our account has been inactive for 3 years and apparently no one knows what they are doing there because everyone I talk to gives me different information, ye no one seems to be able to process my request for the release of lien.

"We have our bike sold, however cannot complete the transaction until we receive the release. The customer service people are of no help and the supervisors are rude and incompetent. I have wasted approximately 20 hours on the phone dealing with these people. I can never talk to the same person twice, and everyone gives me a different story. No one seems to know what they are doing and it appears that they make up things as they go along. The tell me to contact the title department via fax or mail, because the title department does not take incoming calls. I have faxed the information numerous times and still have not received a response from them. Basically they are holding all of the cards and I have no other alternative but to wait for them to play. I cannot believe that they can continue to operate their business in this matter. Whatever happened to customer satisfaction? If it still exists, it is definately not a priority with them!"
